Charmed By The Mountain Prince: The Mountain Prince Two by Frankie Love

Genres: Romance, Adult, Erotica, Novella

Told in dual POVs

The Blurb:

Being a Prince may be my f*cking duty, but there’s no way in hell I’m living in the stuffy castle.

I prefer my cabin in the woods, the one I built with my own two hands.

The time has come for my arranged marriage.

Hell, there are worse things than having a woman in my bed every night.

Regardless of who this Princess is, I’m not changing my ways.

But then Iris shows up with ultimatums and a perfect p*ssy.

One of us has gotta give.

I leave home with optimism … somehow I’ve got to make this work.

So what if this Prince has a reputation for being a royal ass?

It’s still an adventure — which is all I’ve ever wanted.

Garrick is ruggedly handsome and our chemistry is undeniable.

I want to give him all of me.

And I do. Our wedding night is hotter than the island country I come from.

But the rumors are true….

He’s more than a jerk; he’s stubborn as hell.

But I have a plan to change his cocky ways.

He just has to agree to it.

Wish me luck,

DEAREST READER: It’s time to cozy up with a new mountain prince. Garrick is filthy dirty and needing to be tamed. Get ready to fantasize about all the ways you can whip him into shape. 😉

The second book in this series features Prince Garrick and Princess Iris.

Iris is the second of her sisters headed to a far away mountain kingdom where an arranged marriage awaits her. Truthfully, Iris was looking forward to i, unlike her sisters. For as long as she could imagine, Iris wanted an adventure. For her a betrothal to a mountain prince is as close as she’ll ever get to one.

Iris’s father, the king, unintentionally let his kingdom fall to near financial ruin. Because of this, Iris and her sisters far from lived the stereotypical luxurious life of a princess. So yes, Iris was justified in looking forward to living a life of wealth in a castle with servants, cooks, and other staff to see to her needs. However, disappointed in the reality, she discovered her new life was to be far from her dreams. Her awaiting prince was not at all what she was expecting. Yes he was gorgeous. Unfortunately he was arrogant, inconsiderate and pigheaded.

Garrick is heir to the throne. As prince he should have been more involved with royal business. There were duties expected of him but he didn’t want anything to do with it. Garrick was happy to live in his small cabin in the woods aways from the castle. A cabin that he built himself. A cabin with no hot water or electricity; basically not meant for the 21st century. Not meant for a princess and definitely not meant for Iris. And did Garrick even consider his new bride when she asked for simple changes?

What do you think?

Most importantly, what did Iris think?

This was a sweet story. Iris was great. She was kind and considerate; non demanding. Garrick needed some work. He was very lucky to be blessed with having Iris in his life. Garrick started off being very annoyed with his parents for arranging a marriage without his consent. He only went along with it because he knew he had to. It was expected of him. However, he was not intending to change his ways for his princess. If his new bride couldn’t deal with his way of life…well then that would be her problem.. Of course Garrick quickly changed his way of thinking. He realized pretty quickly how amazing Iris was and he would do anything to make her happy. Garrick was a sexy brute and I loved him.

This was another fun, steamy, sexy, super short story. Of course Frankie Love knows how much we love her grumpy, dirty talking mountain men.

The Blurb:

If I have to marry a Princess I’ve never met, let’s have a little fun first.

I want to know what I’m dealing with.

It was only supposed to be an afternoon in disguise, but then a snowstorm hits and everything changes.

Now I’m spending the night in a cabin with the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.

A woman who has secret fantasies … ones I can fulfill … so long as she thinks I’m not royalty.

Turns out, neither of us are what we seem.

 People say I’m innocent, naive.

But that’s just because I believe in true love and happily-ever-after’s.

This arranged marriage dashes those dreams.

But then the Prince’s bodyguard with deep blue eyes, broad shoulders, and a protective hand shows up.

Maybe I can still have what I’ve always wanted–a man who sweeps me off my feet.

I have one night to bring my fantasy to life.

My darling readers,

This is the final Mountain Prince book and is unabashedly my favorite. Grab a copy, snuggle up in a faux fur blanket, and pretend Prince Lucas is all yours. I bet he’ll even let you polish his crown.

My Review:

“Crowned By The Mountain Prince” The Mountain Prince #3 is by author Frankie Love.
Published: October 26, 2016
My Review: 4 Stars

This is book three in The Mountain Prince series. The last of three sisters to wed; now it’s Princess Dahlia’s turn. She will marry sexy mountain prince, Lucas.

Dahlia is not happy about marrying Prince Lucas. Dahlia believes in true love and always hoped she would marry a man that she was in love with. Of course her husband would love her just as much. Now because her father arranged a marriage for her in exchange for a very large dowry, her hopes and dreams of true love are crushed.

Dutifully, Dahlia will go through with the marriage to help save her father’s kingdom. Just like her sisters before her have done. However, Dahlia’s sister’s marriages turned out to be the real deal…happily ever afters. Dahlia hoped to attain the same happiness in her upcoming marriage; sadly she didn’t believe she would have their same luck.

Prince Lucas was not thrilled to be getting married. It was not that he hated the idea of marriage. He just didn’t believe a woman would love him for himself. Only for his crown and vast wealth. His concern was justified because he would be king. But Lucas loved and respected his father dearly. He would do anything the king asked of him. Lucas’s father has been ill for a long time and sadly, he would not live much longer. The king’s wish was to see Lucas marry. So Lucas would make sure his father got his wish. Lucas would marry the princess his father chose for him. But Lucas wanted to meet her before the wedding. Under false pretenses, he would pretend to be someone else with the hope that she would be who he hoped, an honest, caring woman who could love for reasons that had nothing to do with status or wealth.

Of course, Prince Lucas pretty quickly discovered that he regretted his deception. Princess Dahlia was a delightful surprise. She was beautiful, kind and caring and he quickly fell for her. Lucas was worried about her reaction to his deception. What would she say or do when the truth is revealed?

I won’t say more because this story is short and you should experience Lucas and Dahlia’s romance by reading it for yourselves. I absolutely adored this story. I loved Lucas and Dahlia together. We also get visited from Dahlia’s sisters and their princes as well as her father.

As always I look forward to another Frankie Love mountain man romance. They are super short, super sexy and erotic and totally sugary sweet.

“Courted By The Mountain Prince” The Mountain Prince #1 is by author Frankie Love.
My Rating: 4 Stars…..”

What a fun story. This tale features Prince Hunter and Princess Violet. Violet is the oldest of three sisters. Violet loves her island kingdom but sadly they have fallen on hard financial times due to the mismanagement of the king, Violet’s father. In order to help save the kingdom, the king has betrothed his three daughters to wealthy mountain princes in exchange for a large dowry. Violet is the first daughter to meet her prince.

Prince Hunter starts off as an arrogant jerk. He does not want to get married and is angry with his father for arranging an immediate marriage. It is the king’s hope that if Hunter marries, he will settle from his playboy reputation. Surprisingly when Hunter first meets Violet he is charmed by her quiet beauty and kindness. He. Wants. her. Badly. But even more astonishing to Hunter is that Violet is resistant to his ploy to get her in bed before the wedding. The more she resists, the more he wants her.

Violet is afraid of Hunter. She knows he has a crude reputation with the ladies and because she is a virgin, that intimidates her quite a bit. Violet is determined to go through with the marriage because she is a dutiful and honorable daughter. She won’t let her father or her kingdom down. She will marry Hunter to help save her country. The sexy prince has made no secret of the fact that he wants her in his bed. Violet knows as his wife she will have to have sex with him however she will not succumb to his wicked charms until their wedding night. Not before… Not even if she wants him just as badly.

Violet was sweet. I liked her. She was a little shy but courageous and strong too. Hunter starts off as a complete jerk. He was cocky, arrogant and a dirty talker. I loved him 🙂 . Hunter quickly falls for his little princess and he was so sweet with her. This novella was dreamy and romantic, a true fairy tale. A non censored version, of course. Lol…

There are two more novellas in this series featuring Violet’s younger sisters which I can’t wait to read next. I’m such a sucker for these cheesy instalove/lust stories with over the top alpha men. And these stores feature the bearded mountain kind…

Dual POVs

The Blurb:

Homeschooled and under the stifling grip of an overprotective father, Talia Fielding’s life is pretty miserable. Playing her beloved ukulele and writing songs is as close as she comes to having fun. But that all changes on the night of her eighteenth birthday. She’s invited to her first party where she learns two things: girls can be very, very mean and Griffin Stanford kisses better than any fantasy she’s ever had.

To most of his friends, Griffin Stanford is the handsome football star. However, under those good looks lies the heart of a geek. His passion for numbers has ensured him a life changing job straight out of college. The contract he’s signed has him boarding a plane to halfway around the world the morning after he meets the girl of his dreams.

The obsessive draw Griffin feels toward Talia has him questioning his life’s choices. One night, one kiss and Griffin knows this may be his one and only chance to capture the perfect girl… How can he stop her from slipping through his fingers when the world seems determined to keep these two virgins apart?

Author Note: These two fall in love instantly. “Perfect” by author Dani Wyatt.
My Rating: 4 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a fun, quick sexy story! If you love a tall, dark, and gorgeous hero who just so happens to be a virgin, you’ll love this book!

If you love insta-love, insta-lust, between two likable characters, you’ll love this book!

And if you love a smutty, dirty-talking, possessive and protective, OTT hero with a sweet, innocent, curvy and lovable heroine, you’ll love this book!

And yes you guessed it…..I loved this book! In fact, “Perfect” is my favorite Dani Wyatt novel so far.

Griffin and Talia meet for the first time at a party. Griffin sees her and is instantly attracted. They only had a short time together but it was long enough for them to share a brief but sweet life-changing kiss.

Because Griffin has to leave the country for a job, the very next morning after they first meet, he is unable to pursue his need for Talia, to make her his. True that they are thousands of miles apart from each other, however their connection stills grows. Through emails and phone calls their relationship blossoms.

I won’t go into details. Not only because this is a quick read, but because you’ll want to experience their romance on your own to appreciate it.

I was excited to read this book after the synopsis was released. I was not disappointed. So if your looking for a short, sweet, and smutty story with a H/h that are “perfect” for each other, I recommend this intense but dreamy novel.

The Blurb:

“Sometimes, it takes you losing something for you to realize how much good it actually did for you.”

Matt Taylor grew up in a loving family who accepted the way he chose to live his life and whom he chose to love.

it’s been an entirely different story for Nate Collins. His loving mother passed away when he was five and his father and step-mother have made his life a living hell.

They sent him to war as a punishment for his sexual curiosity and it changed his life for the worse.

What happens when those two worlds mesh together?

Amazing story! Passionate and well developed.

“Love At First Hate” (Love At Firsts #2) by author Muriel Garcia.
My Rating: 5 Stars!!!!!

Wow! Just wow!
This was my first novel by this author. All I can say is that I need to read more of her novels. One of the reasons I love social media is because without it, I doubt I would discover so many new authors and their amazing books that I just love. This author and this book was my latest discovery.

I admit I only recently became a fan of MM romance. For no other reason than I hadn’t come across many. But that changed in the past year. “Love At First Hate” is one of my top five favorites in that genre. Even with a well thought out blurb, written to grab our attention, I can only predict what will happen. I was completely blown away by the love, romance, and respect these two amazing men developed for each other. Even the angst added to the story in a positive way, meaning it didn’t give me a ton of anxiety. In the beginning, Matt and Nate get off to a rocky start. With what was going on in their individual lives and with each other.

Matt Taylor was 100% happy with his sexuality. He did not hide who he was, only embraced it with wonderful support from family and friends. Matt lived his life to the fullest every day. He was sexy, gorgeous, confident, loyal and even successful in his professional life as well. Now if only he could find that one special someone to share his life with.

Nate Collins was nearly a complete opposite of Matt. Nate is former military, wounded during a bombing in Afghanistan. He is currently working as a very talented tattoo artist. Nate is also a gorgeous man. Sadly because of an abusive and cruel father, Nate was not allowed to live his life how he wanted. I won’t go into details about Nate’s father but I will say he was an evil man, brutal and controlling. With the support of new friends and Matt, Nate started to take control of his own life and live it his way, including his sexuality, which he was forced to repress his entire life.

Although Nate’s circumstances broke my heart, it was amazing to watch his character develop and grow. The change to Nate’s life was not a quick one but he was determined to fight to be the man he was meant to be.

Matt and Nate were beautiful together. Not only intimately but in every way. This novel has an amazing HEA. And let me add that the epilogue was fantastic; had me in tears. It was so sugary sweet. 🙂

My little note to Muriel..I would love to read a holiday epilogue with Matt and Nate in the future. Hint..hint..;)

Love At First Hate was a beautiful romance, a hard and pain-filled journey that ended with the sweetest love that two people could find with each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book

The Virgin Cowboy: Cowboys and Virgins #4 by Alexa Riley

Genres:  Romance, Cowboy, Erotica, Instalove, Virgins H/h, Novella

The Blurb:

Dolly Jennings has wanted one man since she was sixteen, but he’s kept her at arm’s reach. Time has passed and she’s all grown up now, with a body that he can’t ignore.

Brandon Knight has wanted Dolly for longer than he should have, but he thought she deserved someone better. No longer able to control his desires, he’s giving up on staying away, and claiming his woman.

When Brandon finally gives in, can he prove himself worthy of Dolly? Will Dolly throw sass and southern sayings all over the place?

Warning: This short story is packed full of big hair, big attitude, and big curves. Dolly holds her own, but the hero always ends up on top. *slow wink* Grab your boots and cowboy hat… We’ve got a couple of cherries to pop!

My Review:

The Virgin Cowboy (Cowboys & Virgins, #4)The Virgin Cowboy by Alexa Riley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“The Virgin Cowboy” Cowboys and Virgins #4 by Alexa Riley.
My Rating: 3.5 Stars!!!

Before I continue with my review I’m going to say I am not a huge fan of the “daddy” hero. Truth is I find it a bit creepy. However, if it is from one of my favorite authors, my loyalty compels me to give it a chance. Doesn’t mean I’ll like it but since I am open minded to trying out different tropes or genres, I will give it a chance. Fortunately this novella was not over the top “daddy.” That was probably likely due to the short length of the story. So I enjoyed it. Or let’s say I was entertained for the simple fact it was an AR book.

This is book 4 in the series and Dolly and Brandon’s story. Dolly is the youngest sibling of the Jennings. Her older brothers, Ty, Blake, and Trace had their HEA in the three previous books. We actually met our hero, Brandon, in, “Lassoing The Mail Order Bride.” There he worked on the McCallister ranch.

Brandon has loved Dolly for years. Dolly has loved Brandon for just as long. But she was sixteen and he is years older. Brandon knew he was too old for her. But now he isn’t and he’s decided it is time to stake his claim in that adorable caveman way that Alexa Riley is famous for. Dolly was always his anyway but now it was time to make it official. Dolly gives no resistance and what follows is dirty, smutty sex. Both Dolly and Brandon are virgins although you’d never know it by the way they couldn’t keep their hands to themselves. They went at it like true pros. 🙂 LOL.

I liked Brandon a lot and he seemed to be lonely before Dolly. I was glad he finally allowed himself to have her. And I loved how alpha he was too. It was his way! And Dolly who was independent, had no trouble taking orders from her sexy cowboy.

“You’re going to marry me, Dolly, not because I’m asking-I’m not-but because there’s no other choice I will allow.”

My Review:

Let It BurnLet It Burn by Dee Ellis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.75 Stars!
“Let It Burn” by author Dee Ellis

I believe this was the debut novel for Dee Ellis. For a first novel I thought is was very good. The pace of the first 60% of the novel was slow however the build of sexual tension was strong and intense. The chemistry between Cage and Chloe was crazy hot! The remaining 40% of the book had a steady pace and I was really into their relationship by that point. I do wish our H/h acted on their burning hot attraction a lot sooner.

Cage Cooper is a Chicago firefighter. He is the perfect male. Tall, gorgeous, independent, sexy and intense. I loved his romantic side! Cage knew the perfect words to say in any circumstance. Yes he was OTT but in an adorable way. Another strong characteristic he had was his patience. Lucky for Chloe that he had an unlimited supply of it because she was a mess. Chloe was slow to the take however, Cage knew the first moment he locked eyes on her, she was “it” for him.

Chloe Dixon just moved to Chicago to make a new life for herself. Back home in Iowa she was drowning in responsibility, regret and the cliche of “small town” interference. She wanted to start over in a new place where no one knew anything about her. She had good reasons for wanting this change in her life. I understood where her fears and wariness stemmed from and because of that I was able to justify some of her responses and actions. Unfortunately what really frustrated me was her frequent attitude of hot and cold with Cage. This attitude continued through almost the entire book. I am going to admit this. I did not like her at all! Not even in the end. It was a very good thing I loved Cage and was invested in his HEA because this novel was nearly 500 pages.

This novel has an huge amount of inner monologue. I wish there was more dialogue and less being in their heads. This novel is written in both H/h POVs, a trait I prefer and is usually a strong factor in book selection for me. My comment about the dual POV in this novel is that I would have preferred each POV continued into a new chapter rather then reading the same scenes in different POVs. It just makes the novel longer. So because of the scene repetition and some monologue repetition, I think this novel could have been a lot shorter with the same result.

After reading this novel I am of the opinion that Dee Ellis put a lot of effort into her writing. Description, prose, and scene-setup are just part of her writing talents. Her sex scenes are realistic, intimate and powerful. Cage was an intense lover and Chloe was very receptive to his touch and even his seductive words. So was I… 🙂 These two had such strong chemistry that their instant attraction to each other was believable. In addition to Cage and Chloe’s interactions, Dee Ellis set up her scenes so that I could imagine I was there.

Now let me add there is quite a bit of angst and anxiety. I felt bad for Cage and how Chloe treated him often resulting in his insecurity and fear of losing her. Chloe was a runner. Cage went through rings of fire to be with her. Their HEA was not an easy one to achieve but when they finally got there I was thrilled. I hope Chloe is counting her lucky stars that Cage was so patient and understanding with her. I didn’t like that he blamed himself for everything that went wrong between them. In my eyes the blame was mostly hers. My opinion? She didn’t deserve him.

Dee Ellis added a bunch of secondary characters, most of whom I liked. Both there families were loyal and loving and a great addition to the story. That said, I can’t wait to read Finn and Gigi’s story next.

**I received an ARC from the author via BookFunnel in exchange for an honest review**

Oh how I enjoyed reading this sweet story! This romance takes place the days prior to Christmas and ends on New Year’s Day. Our couple, Cassidy and Griffin, definitely had chemistry from the very beginning and they fell for each other pretty quickly. However I didn’t have that intense instalove feeling you get with novellas which I was pleased about.

Griff and Cassidy both had emotional baggage they needed to move forward from. Their romance was believable; it developed realistically. God, I really loved Griff! Cassidy was a likable character too. I would have loved this to be a full length novel. There were secondary characters here as well that were likable and I would have liked more of them as well.

So if you are looking for a short, sweet romantic novella to get you in the holiday mood, I totally recommend, “A Cowboy’s Midnight Kiss!”

Her Renegade Rancher (Montana Men, #5)Her Renegade Rancher by Jennifer Ryan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely amazing! Jennifer Ryan is one of my favorite authors.
Romance, suspense and sexy cowboys!
My Rating: 5 Stars!!!!!

“Her Renegade Rancher” Montana Men #5 by author Jennifer Ryan.

What an amazing addition to this romantic suspense series. I have read every novel Jennifer Ryan has available and have loved them all. They are romance, yes, but can be pretty dark and intense. If you’ve read her “The Hunted” series then you know what I mean. I completely ignore my TBR list when Jennifer has a release. I don’t need a blurb to preorder or one-click her books because I know they will be great. If you love romantic suspense, cowboys and Montana, you will love this series!

In this novel I felt like I was playing a game of “Clue.” There were many suspects, all with reasonable cause to make trouble. I changed my mind several times while trying to guess. This novel had me enthralled. I love how Jennifer can make me wonder if the obvious guilty are innocent and the innocent, guilty.

Our hero, Colt Kendrick is the youngest of three brothers. Along with their grandfather, they are hard working, loyal and love each other unconditionally. They are always there for family and friends. I love them all but of the three Kendrick brothers, Colt is my favorite. Well at least for now because Ford’s story hasn’t come out yet.

Colt and Luna…..
Colt was best friend’s with Luna’s boyfriend and he felt guilty for his more than platonic feelings for Luna. Even after she broke up with her boyfriend, he tried to stay away believing it was wrong. Bro-code and all that. But one night they shared a life changing kiss. Ever since that kiss, Colt and Luna stopped speaking and avoided each other. Of course there was a misunderstanding that I won’t go into because it’s better if you read it yourself.

Luna Hill works at the local diner. At least for now. She was offered a job out of state that would allow her to put her degree to use. But can she leave Montana and her friends? It’s because of her friends that she will have another choice.

All at once Luna finds herself in a situation where all her dreams are coming true. But instead of enjoying her good fortune, she is fighting to stay one step ahead of the danger that is suddenly unraveling around her. Not of it her fault, of course.

I can’t say enough how much I loved Luna as a heroine. I did not have one single critique with her character. She was loyal, loving, kind, honorable and always stayed true to what was right. Another aspect of this story I appreciated was that Luna and Colt, once they became a couple, were solid in there feelings for each other. The angst of this story, although effected Colt and Luna, was not caused by them. Colt and Luna were perfect for each other and I believed in their love.

The next book features middle brother Ford. We get a teaser about his story at the end of this one. His story hints to another suspense. I predict tension and angst and of course, a lot of romance. Ford’s story may be the last in this series unless Jennifer introduces new characters. I will be sad if it’s the last. But then again that mean a whole new series to look forward to.
