A Standalone Romance Novella With No Cliffhanger and a Guaranteed HEA
She’s supposed to be off-limits, but all bets are off.
I’ll never regret running away from a f**king nightmare of a broken home to join the Army. On my return after three tours, I have a chance meeting with a sexy little country-western songbird. The attraction is explosive, but she turns out to be my ex-girlfriend’s little sister. I don’t remember her having all those curves, or her sassy attitude, or that mouth that was made for sin.
Now that I’ve set my sights on Robin, her forbidden status means nothing to me. I’m ready to claim her, no matter the cost.

I bump into the bad boy who broke my sister’s heart nine years ago, and everything changes. I never expect forbidden fireworks, secrets and danger at every turn, and a hero in my corner when I need him most.

Author’s notes:
– His Ex’s Little Sister is a standalone romance novella with no Cliffhanger and a Guaranteed HEA.
– The Insta-Love on the Run series includes quick and sinfully steamy contemporary romance standalones you can devour on the run! Each book is a short burst of explosive romance that’ll consume you for up to two hours. Find your dose of love from the very first page. All stories are copyrighted content from Bella Love-Wins.

Reid and Robin…….

His Ex’s Little Sister was a short, steamy, insta-love romance. Well it was insta-love for Reid however it took Robin a bit longer to get on board, lol.

Reid has a brief, past history with Robin’s older sister. Without going into details I’ll tell you Robin did not like Reid. In fact, she hated him with a passion!

There is a bit of suspense going on in the background. Reid and Robin take some time before they get together but their attraction and chemistry doesn’t let that go on for too long.

I enjoyed the suspense aspect. I feel it gave this short story some complexity. Unfortunately it took me most of the book to warm up to Robin. Because I didn’t like her much, I did not have a connection to her character. That said, I liked Reid a lot. Despite Robin’s opinions he was a good guy.

To sum it up, I enjoyed reading this book. I thought the writing flowed nicely with a steady pace. The story was short and sweet and just what I was in the mood for.

My review is honest and unbiased and I thank you for taking the time to read it.

He’s back.

Not just back in town, but living in the flat right beneath mine. And he looks good enough to eat, which is just one more reason to stay away from him.

But I can’t resist.

The sex is incredible (pretty sure we’ve shaken the house right off its foundation), but he can’t fool me—not this time. A degree in marketing and five years in advertising have taught me that “true love” is a fairy tale used to sell lipstick, diamonds, and perfume. It doesn’t exist.

He thinks I’m wrong, and he wants to prove it.

I think he’s crazy, so I dare him to try.

It might be the biggest mistake of my life.

Quinn and Jaime…….

Talk about a commitment phob! Jaime was so stubborn that she nearly lost the love of a lifetime. Quinn is one of my favorite heroes of the books I read this month. In fact, I can say that he is on my top list for 2017 thus far.

Jaime crushed on Quinn when they were teen agers. Unfortunately he turned down her advances, broke her 17 year old heart then became the first of many romance disappointments in her life. Ten years later, Quinn is back in town. He is one gorgeous piece of man candy, sexy and smoking hot! Quinn is not only sexy, he is passionate, loving, considerate and the list goes on. How could any girl resist his charms? As long as there were no complications of commitment or feelings getting involved, Jaimie claimed she could. And for most of the book, she did a good job of denying her feelings to him and to herself all while having a casual affair with him.

Jaime was not easy to like. She said and did things I hated. That said, there were more than a few moments that she had me laughing aloud which endeared her to me. So my dislike for her didn’t last long.

On the other hand, Quinn was an amazing character. Lovable. If he had any faults, I didn’t see them. He was witty, charming and funny as well.

Man Candy was not my first Melanie Harlow book but it was my favorite. I didn’t have any complaints with her writing. The dialogue was perfect between Quinn and Jaime. Even with the secondary characters whose books I can’t wait to read. In addition, having both H/h POVs added even more to my enjoyment.

While this book had a ton of steamy scenes and scorching chemistry, Quinn and Jaime’s journey to a HEA was not a fast one. Jaime’s fears of ‘love’ were real and it took a lot of care and patience on Quinn’s behalf to win her over. I thought this book was great and I hardly put it down. Man Candy is definitely a top recommendation from me.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it.

Standalone in an interconnected series

Series:  Cocker Brothers of Atlanta

Can you really find your soulmate when you’re only eight years old…only to lose her two years later and never know what happened ?

No way. It can’t be…Yes, it’s her…

Getting kissed long and slow by that city boy douche-bag is Rachel Sawyer, my best friend and secret love, back when I was just a boy.

The only girl who could ever hold my interest past a minute.

I want to punch that guy for touching her like that…and I just might.

But I’ve got a ranch and live a quiet existence until I saw her. There’s no way I can compete with her flashy New York City life.

I don’t care.
If I don’t steal Rachel away from that dick, I’ll never have another chance.

I won’t lose her. Not to him. Not to New York. Not to anyone.

Not again.

As Ryan answers yet another work email, I spy a gorgeous man intently staring at me, emerald green eyes daring me to remember him.

Oh my God it’s him…my first kiss… The one who always got me into trouble is now trouble-incarnate.

Jaxson Cocker.

All grown up into the rugged and masculine drop-your-panties-at-the-door kind of sexy.

But I love Ryan…so why the hell am I walking toward Jaxson like he’s a magnet and I’m metal?

We’re no longer the innocent children we used to be. That chemistry we once had has ripened into something dangerous.

I want him to touch me, but I shouldn’t.
I want him to kiss me, but I shouldn’t.

Just because Ryan said those horrible things…doesn’t mean I have the right to do this. Does it?!
Why is it some men have the power to make you do things you never dreamed you’d do? Do you follow your heart or your head?

Jaxson and Rachel…….

This was my first book by this author and I loved it! The Cocker Brothers of Atlanta Series is currently 12 books including a novella. I believe there is at least one more book to come. While I started this series with book three, a completely random decision, I had no trouble following along. The entire series is interconnected, however each can be read as a standalone.

Jaxson and Rachel hadn’t seen each other for twenty years, since her family moved from Georgia when they were ten years old. Before Rachel moved, she and Jaxson were best friends. They did everything together including getting into trouble. Actually it was Jaxson that always got Rachel into trouble, lol. Some of my favorite moments in this book were when Jaxson and Rachel had flashbacks to their childhood years. Even as a child Jaxson was arrogant, cocky and self-confident. Their relationship was adorable!

The pull and connection they had as children was absolutely beautiful. When they saw each other for the first time as adults after twenty years of separation, the connection was still there. Still strong. And still unbinding.

To say that it was inevitable they would get a happy ending is an understatement. However, the journey to HEA was tense, emotional, and angsty. There were some dark and shocking moments I did not see coming. This book was well-written.

Since I obviously don’t want to spoil any part of this book for you I will finish here by saying I absolutely loved this book, the characters and the heartwarming feelings I was left with after turning the last page. I can’t wait to read more of these sexy brothers!

This is my honest and unbiased review. It was a pleasure to read this book.

Have you ever imagined having two men! Four hands, roaming your body! Two pairs of lip…
I often did, a desire that I had for many years, a fantasy that only lived in my head.
Until it was offered on a plate, no strings, no attachments. Offered to me just like that, with two amazingly hot men. That made my breath catch and my knees weak.
Yes, that is just what I needed as I returned home for my brother’s wedding, unsatisfied and frustrated with my life.
The week at home proves to be a life-changing event, and I am not quite sure how to deal with it.
I meet Jaxson and Taylen, twin brothers and they unexpectedly give me everything I dreamed of. A fantasy coming true, one night with no consequences, no attachments, no feelings! Or so I thought.

Alfea, Jaxson, and Taylen…….

I believe I may have gotten this book free during a promotion. Bailey James is a first time author for me. To be honest, I don’t know that I would have come across this title if it wasn’t being advertised as free at the time. Well, I’m glad I did because I liked it.

Yes, this book is very short and cheesy. The characters are one-dimensional but with such a short story, that is what I expected. Also the POV is told singularly by Alfea so that doesn’t give us insight into the heroes thoughts. Please don’t infer that I didn’t like this book nor that I am complaining. I knew when I dove in what I’d be getting. So that’s just my opinion. The writing was good but I did come across some grammar issues but none too bad that it took away from the story for me.

The blurb was a tiny bit misleading; I assumed that the HH/h were strangers. That was not the case. Alfea hadn’t met Taylor yet however she had known Jaxson for years as he is her brother’s best friend. There is supposed to be a one-time fantasy with no commitment or feelings involving Alfea and two hot, sexy twins. The premise is predictable. There is definitely a sweet HEA and I loved the last few pages; they were so sexy.

If you’re looking for a romantic, complex menage romance, this is NOT that book. However if you are in the mood for a very short, quick, sexy read then you might like Double Desire.

This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Mason Cross safeguards club security.

He’s Sergeant-at-Arms for the Steel Titans MC.

Running protection detail on someone should be a walk in the park.

And it would be. If it was on anybody but HER.

Lucy Taylor.

He’s stayed away from her for a reason.

But now they’ve been thrown together, all bets are off.

The beast wants out of its cage.

To take her.

To devour her.

To claim her.

But that would mean breaking a code.

Betraying a brotherhood.

Just cuz a man wants something doesn’t mean it’s right to take it.

But she’s more than a want. She’s a craving. In his bones.

A woman who makes a man want to brave chaos and even Hell itself

Besides, this biker’s always game for a rough and wild ride.

*This is a standalone novella*

She held on real tight to my jacket, telling me, “You’ve been showing me
nothing but hostility for the last few years. I thought you hated me. And
yet here you are being so sweet to me, hell-bent on defending me. So, all
this hatred was… what… a lie? Tell me, Mason.”

“I need to get you home.”

“Tell me,” she insisted, being the stubborn-ass woman she always was.

I knew I should’ve just broken her grip by force, lunged at her and thrown
her on the back of my bike, or some shit. But, for the life of me, I

Instead, the words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. It was
the intensity in those sexy blues of hers, urging the truth from me after
all these years of keeping it buried down deep. Or, maybe it was her hands
on me finally, us being so close screwing with my good sense. Either way,
they burned on the way out, almost clogging my throat as I told her,
“There’s nothing to hate. Never was. Never will be, Luce.”

“But all this time–”

“Was easier that way.”

The hell, it was. There was no easy when it came to staying away from her.
To wanting her. But what else could I tell her?

I knew the second she got what I was saying, cuz her eyes flashed and she
gasped, “Oh my God.”

“Why… uh… why did you break that tonight? I mean, you were sweet to me.”

“You needed me.”

She bit her lip. I watched as it trembled and my gut clenched; it looked
like she was gonna cry. Cuz of me.

She buried her face in my chest.

“Luce, I–”

“So, tomorrow we go back to playing the hating game? Is that it?” she
asked, her voice muffled against my leather again.

Fuck, I didn’t know. How was I supposed to answer that?

Instead of finding the words, I reached out and sank my fingers into her
hair, stroking her soft purple waves. She turned into my touch and raised
her head to gaze up at me. “Is that what you want?” Her voice was barely a
whisper and sounded so damn sultry.

“What I want?” I rasped, almost choking on the words.

She nodded. “That’s what I asked.”

I wasn’t sure if she meant to challenge me. I knew Luce was real innocent.
How could she not be with Cole always driving away every bastard who got
within a few feet of her? But either way, the man in me sure as fuck was
taking it as a challenge, as though she was throwing down the gauntlet.
Cuz, as I looked down at her, all I could see was the girl I’d always
wanted right there in my arms, desire in her eyes for me, wanting to be
taken, needing me as much as I’d been needing her all this time. And with
her hands on me short-circuiting my brain, her sweet coconut scent driving
me to distraction, and the white knight complex she’d brought out in me
tonight on overload, my willpower was shot to hell.

I dipped my head and fisted my hand in the back of hair. “‘Course it

Her eyes widened and she mumbled, “Then what–?”

My mouth crashed down on hers with the fury of a violent tidal wave
colliding with land. She whimpered from the ferocity that I couldn’t hold
back, stumbling. I brought my hand around to the small of her back,
steadying her for a second, before pushing her against my bike. She cried
out and the sound sent a bolt of pleasure straight to my dick. A cross
between a moan and a sexy purr. I feasted on her lips, nipping, biting and
licking every last inch of them. But I needed more. I needed to taste her,
to claim the woman I’d denied myself for so fucking long.

I sank my hand deep into her silky waves, angling her head with a rough
tug. It had her arching her back and rolling her hips, trying to rub
herself against me. Mmm… she well liked that. A bit of sexual domination.
Good thing, cuz that was the only way I rolled, as I’d warned her earlier.

The next thing I knew, her hands were slipping under my shirt and her nails
were dragging up and down my back, making me hiss with the bite of pain.
Hell, yes!

Growling, I gripped her thigh hard. It had her gasping and parting her
sweet lips for me. I didn’t waste the invite. I plunged my tongue inside,
diving in eagerly to taste every part of her. She went wild then, her
tongue tangling with mine, giving as good as she got. I wasn’t sure which
one of us was panting harder. All I knew was I could barely breathe, but I
didn’t want to stop, cuz it felt too good tasting her, touching her, after
all this time. I just couldn’t get enough. I was lost in the heat of her.
Drowning in it.

I ground my stiff cock against her. I was so hard that it was painful. I
could feel her heat even through my jeans. She fisted my cut, holding me to
her and whimpering into my mouth, begging me to take it further.

“Oh God, Mason,” she choked, breaking the kiss and peppering my neck with
desperate licks.

Every stroke of her tongue against my skin was like liquid fire, enflaming
me further. Tempting me. Hit the brakes! I was fast reaching the point of
no return. We were in a fucking parking lot! She deserved better. This shit
was reserved for club whores, not her. Not my little pixie. This wasn’t the
plan, asshole! Things had gotten outta control real quick.

I felt her fingers sliding down my chest. Lower… lower.

Kiss My Boots

Harper Sloan

Genres:  Romance, Second Chance Romance

My Rating:  4

Cover:  4

Publication:  July 18th 2017

Read:  July 23rd 2017

Kindle Edition:  384 pages

POV:  First-person dual perspective

Series:  Coming Home:  Lost Rider; Kiss My Boots; Cowboy Up (December 2017)

In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.

The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

My Review:

Kiss My Boots (Coming Home, #2)Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars to Kiss My Boots (Coming Home #2) by Harper Sloan.

Quinn and Tate…….

One of my favorite tropes is second chance romance. Kiss My boots had me giddy and grinning. The true angst in this book was the past and the reasons Quinn and Tate were not together.

As kids, then teens, Tate and Quinn were inseparable. Best friends. Then they were more. A lot more. Promises were made, futures were planned. And then they were nothing. I won’t give anything away as to what happened in the past so you can enjoy the book for yourself and the rebuild of Quinn and Tate’s relationship. I will say that rightfully, Tate has a challenge ahead if he plans to win back Quinn’s trust then ultimately her heart.

I admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the way Tate ended their younger relationship. I understood why he thought it was necessary. What I didn’t approve of was the complete shut-out. It was cruel.

When Tate comes back to town, I wanted to believe in him. I wanted him to beg, plead, grovel and do everything and anything to prove to Quinn he loved her and she could trust him again. Quinn was an amazing character, loyal, funny, witty and she deserved to be happy. Thankfully Tate did not let me down.

If you are a fan of Harper Sloan, cowboys, small towns, outrageous and loyal characters with a huge dose of soul-shattering true love, I recommend this book. As a matter of fact, I recommend book one as well which features one of Quinn’s brothers, Maverick. I truly can’t wait until eldest brother Clay’s book is released in December.

When I left my hometown, I had no plans to return. New city – new me.

But when a family emergency brings me back home, I’m forced to pack up my life and take the only available job.

Wesley Steele is the owner of Good Wood Tree Removal Inc. and the boss from hell. A typical lumberjack, he’s bearded, arrogant and offensive. He’s everything I despise in a man. I want nothing to do with him or his flannel clad chest.

But, he’s on a mission, intent to change my mind. How far is he willing to go to prove there’s more depth to him than meets the eye?

Wesley and Avery…….
This was another sexy, sweet read by this author duo. The writing flowed very well considering Remy Blake is two authors: Jacob Chance and Marley Valentine. The pace was good so that I easily read through this book in under two hours.

Avery is back in town after having left years ago. Wesley and Avery knew each other from high school. I don’t want to say too much about their HS relationship other than that is wasn’t good. Because of that, Avery is surprised and more than a little dismayed to find Wesley waiting for her at the airport. Avery wants nothing to do with Wes and will not give in to his charms. I have no other way to describe Wes other than big, burly, adorable and very persuasive. I liked Avery and Wesley together. They had great chemistry and the banter between them was entertaining and humorous.

My one small disappointment was that Wesley didn’t really apologize for his actions in high school. I felt there needed to be some groveling on his part and better acknowledgment and understanding of how deeply his actions affected Avery.

Clipped has a great ending. Wesley and Avery are so adorable together and I’m glad they have their HEA.
