Holy Hell! Oh. My. God!
I don’t even know where to begin with this book!
To say I loved it is a HUGE understatement.
I’m determined to write this review without spoiling anything for you. There was so much going on here and this book was overloaded with feels. There is tragedy but there is also so much laughter. I cried both happy and gut wrenching tears. From page one I was engaged. And the only reason it became necessary to put my Kindle down was because I needed to take care of my family. The nerve of them taking me from my reading, lol. 🙂 I will add this book has one of the very best endings I have ever read!
I have only read a few books by this author and I have loved every single one. Nikki Ash has an amazing talent for storytelling. She is not afraid to cross some boundaries or break your heart to pieces. I promise you though, she will do an absolutely amazing and satisfying job of piecing your heart back together.
Tristan and Charlie were two of my favorite characters of the year. Hands down, I mean that. I can’t say too much without giving you spoilers but I can say there are a few other characters in this book that you will love. There is no way you couldn’t.
Tristan is a single father. He is a great dad, a great friend. Tristan is at the top of my book boyfriend list. He has a protective and loyal side. He is kind, friendly, and so so sexy. There is no way you can’t love him.
Charlie has been through unimaginable trauma. She is guarded and wary of everyone and everything around her. All with good reason. Her circumstances gutted me. Completely. Charlie never saw Tristan coming. Or his adorable daughter. They both helped to heal her. They showed her unconditional love and support. I loved Charlie!
This is one of the best books I’ve read this year. While Charlie and Tristan’s relationship grew slowly, I never felt frustrated by the pace. In fact, this book would not have been believable otherwise. While I can’t say this book was relatable (for obvious reasons), it was everything I look for in the perfect read.
If you haven’t read this author yet, I recommend her highly. That said, I have read a few of her books and look forward to reading more. I only wish there was more reading time available in my days. Tristan’s best friend Mason has a book coming soon. I plan to grab that one as soon as it releases!
This is my unbiased and honest review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
